We drive you to the top to take in the view from the most famous mountain in America. We stop several times on the way down for photo opportunities and a rest break. A light breakfast and lunch are included.  This exciting downhill adventure is easy and safe. We provide front suspension mountain bikes, cold weather gear, entertaining guides, and a support van. You may keep your souvenir water bottle.

BIKE GOLD CAMP ROAD
Colorado BikingAt the turn of the century railroad builders carved a railroad grade through the beautiful mountains between Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek. Money was no object as they dug tunnels and blasted away rock to reach the rich mines.  Where the steam locomotives used to pull cars loaded with gold ore, you will coast down the gentle grade from high in the mountains back to Colorado Springs. Along the way you will take in the beautiful scenery and pass through several railroad tunnels. As you round each corner you will be treated to a new view of the mountains and Colorado Springs spread out below. The tour offers a wonderful way to experience the beauty of the Colorado Rockies.  The average ride time of this tour is about three hours.  $75/person  Available daily at 1:00pm.  All equipment included.  Total activity time 4 hours.

Clothing
We provide all-weather gear for Pikes Peak, but please dress for current weather conditions. Take into account temperature variations with elevation. We recommend that you bring a light day pack to carry snacks and clothing layers. Light gloves, coat and emergency rain gear are provided as needed.

Your Physical Condition
Our rides are suitable for novice riders, as they are primarily downhill, and do not involve strenuous exercise. Several thousand people will enjoy these rides each year. However the rides do involve exercise at an altitude of 6000 to 14,000 feet. Potential riders should consult their physician if they have any doubt about their health or ability to participate at this altitude.

Equipment
We have sixty, 21 speed mountain bikes (with front suspension). We need your height and weight with your reservation so that we will have an appropriate bike reserved for you. We also provide bike helmets, water bottles, and all weather gear for Pikes Peak.

Limitations
Children under eight are generally too small to care for themselves during the bike rides. We have no specific upper age limit as physical condition and strength vary greatly from person to person. We enjoy taking senior citizens and frequently have riders in their 70's. We can accommodate riders up to 250 pounds.

Depending on the time of the year, the time of day or other unforeseen circumstances, we are not always able to offer all tours every day. All tours require a minimum number of passengers. We will make every effort to accomodate all guests, but may ask for some flexibility on your part by having alternate days/times available.
